Dr. Joyce Koh, M.D.Joyce Koh, M.D. was born and raised outside of Philadelphia, PA. She graduated with high honors from Harvard College, with a Bachelor of Arts in History and East Asian Studies, and received her medical degree from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. Dr. Koh completed her residency in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and her gastroenterology fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, both in Baltimore, MD.
Dr. Koh draws on a variety of life and professional experiences in her commitment to patient-centered care. She is compassionate and approachable and believes that each patient is a unique person who deserves her careful attention. She enjoys all aspects of gastroenterology and hepatology and is interested in gut motility disorders, such as nausea, diarrhea, and constipation. She has a strong academic background and participated in the development of research trials and protocols during her training. Drawing on her experience as a summer research fellow at the National Institutes of Health National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, she also appreciates the supportive role of complementary and alternative medicine in the care of select patients. As a second-generation Korean-American, she is interested in serving the needs of Asian American communities.
Her professional memberships include: American Gastroenterology Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society, American Medical Association. Her hobbies include running outdoors and working out, listening to music, and finding good (but affordable) eats.
